Privacy Policy Statement
The River to River Credit Union is committed to making available financial products and services that will enable you to meet your financial needs and reach your financial goals. Protecting personal information and using it in a manner consistent with your expectations is a high priority for everyone associated with our credit union. We recognize the importance of our responsibility in protecting our members' private information. We want to protect the personal and financial information that you have entrusted to us. Therefore, we have developed the following privacy policy that respects and addresses your needs. We believe that all personal and financial information specific to you that you provide to the credit union through any channel constitutes personal information. To ensure that you can rely upon the quality of products and services we make available, the credit union stands behind the following privacy policy.
*The River to River Credit Union will collect only the personal information that is necessary to provide competitive financial products and services--no more.
*The River to River Credit Union will maintain strong security controls to ensure that member information in our files and computers is protected. Where appropriate, we will use security coding techniques to protect against unauthorized access to personal records, ensure accuracy and integrity of communications and transactions, and protect member confidentiality.
*You will always have access to your information. As a member of the River to River Credit Union, you will always have the opportunity to review your information and make necessary changes to ensure that the credit union records are complete and accurate. Members should be aware that necessary changes may need to be made directly with the provider of the information, such as a credit bureau.
*We strive to maintain our records accurately, and will respond as quickly as possible when we learn of the need for correction. Members should contact us immediately if they see any inaccuracy with statements or communications that need to be corrected.
*The River to River Credit Union will partner only with businesses that follow strict confidentiality requirements. The businesses we select will offer products designed to enhance our members' economic well-being. Under no circumstances will we authorize these firms to charge your account without your express consent or knowledge. The credit union does not and will not sell or provide personal information to telemarketing firms.
*The River to River Credit Union will share only information when absolutely necessary. We will share information to administer the products and services we provide, when required to do so by the government, or when we partner with other businesses to offer a broader array of products and services.
*The River to River Credit Union will not disclose information to third parties concerning our members' accounts except: a) when such disclosure is necessary to complete the transactions; b) to verify the existence and condition of your account for a third party (such as a credit bureau) as permitted by law; c) to comply with any court order of applicable laws or regulations; d) for products and services offered under a joint marketing agreement between your credit union and other financial institutions; or 3) when you give us your permission.
*The River to River Credit Union will offer you a choice in how your transaction is used. Any member of the credit union may elect to keep their information from being shared with our business partners. We will inform you on how to exercise your choice, and we will take all reasonable steps to make sure your requests are followed. At least once a year, we will remind all members of their right to choose.
Your Notice of Information That We May Collect and Disclose About You
We collect nonpublic personal information about you from the following sources:
*Information we receive from you on applications or other forms;
*Information about your transactions with us, or affiliates, or others such as your account balance, payment history, parties to transactions, and credit card usage;
*Information we receive from a consumer reporting agency, otherwise known as a credit bureau;
*Information obtained when verifying the information you provide on an application or other forms. This may be obtained from your current or past employers, or from other institutions where you conduct financial transactions.
We do not disclose any nonpublic personal information about you to anyone, except as permitted by law.
Confidentiality and Security
We restrict access to nonpublic personal information about you to those employees and officials who need to know that information to provide products or services to you. Our employees are trained in the importance of maintaining confidentiality and member privacy. We maintain physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards that comply with federal regulations and leading industry practices to safeguard your nonpublic personal information.
If you decide to terminate your membership or become an inactive member we will adhere to the privacy policies and practices as described in this notice.
What You Can Do to Help Protect Your Privacy
Protect your account numbers, card numbers PINs (personal identification numbers) and passwords. Never keep your PIN with your debit or credit card which can provide free access to your accounts if your card is lost or stolen. Never allow unauthorized persons to use your cards or have information about your accounts. Keep your information with us current along with any address and phone number changes.
